3.TSMC announces A16 chip progress in the second half of 2026
TSMC recently announced that its new chip manufacturing technology – A16, will enter production in the second half of 2026.
Analysts say that the technology announced by TSMC could make the industry question Intel’s statement in February 2024 that: “Intel will surpass TSMC to create the world’s fastest computing chip with new technology Intel 14A”.
TSMC said it is developing the new A16 chip production process faster than expected due to demand from artificial intelligence chip companies, but did not name specific customers.
In addition, TSMC believes that it does not need to use ASML’s new High NA EUV lithography machine to produce A16 chips. TSMC also revealed new behind-the-chip powering technology that accelerates AI chips and will launch in 2026.
