2. Global semiconductor sales increased 15.8% year-on-year in April, 2024

According to the latest report from the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), global semiconductor industry revenue reached $46.4 billion in April 2024, marking a 15.8% increase compared to $40.1 billion in April 2023, and a 1.1% rise from $45.9 billion in March 2024.

John Neuffer, President and CEO of SIA, highlighted that the semiconductor industry has consistently shown double-digit year-over-year sales growth throughout 2024. April 2024 specifically saw the first monthly increase this year, indicating positive market dynamics. Neuffer also mentioned that the industry’s latest forecast predicts strong annual growth in 2024, driven by robust sales in the Americas market, projected to grow over 25% this year.

Regionally, compared to April last year, sales in April 2024 increased in the Americas (32.4%), China (23.4%), and Asia Pacific/All Other regions (11.1%), but decreased in Europe (-7.0%) and Japan (-7.8%). On a monthly basis, April 2024 sales rose in the Americas (4.2%), Japan (2.4%), and China (0.2%), while declining in Asia Pacific/All Other regions (-0.5%) and Europe (-0.8%).
