Field Application Engineer – RF & Telecommunications
Job Description:
1. Research and Propose Technical Solutions
- Analyze technical requirements from customers and propose suitable solutions in fields such as networking equipment, telecommunications, 5G, IoT, and defense.
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop customized solutions tailored to customer needs.
2. Evaluate and Optimize RF Block Performance
- Guide customers in designing and selecting optimal solutions for RF blocks, including amplifiers, filters, antenna matching circuits, and transmission lines.
- Analyze and evaluate RF circuit performance through simulation and measurement, and propose optimizations based on technical requirements for each project.
3. Perform Product Demos, Testing, and RF Signal Measurement
- Organize and conduct real-world product demos and tests, including RF signal measurements, antenna performance checks, and transmission environment evaluations.
- Use specialized instruments to analyze S-parameters and assess transmission characteristics to determine RF system performance and compatibility.
- Proficient in basic RF testing equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, etc.
4. Post-Sales Technical Support and Product Improvement
- Work with customers and technical teams to identify root causes and resolve post-sales technical issues promptly.
- Collect feedback on product performance and features to propose technical improvements or configuration adjustments to enhance service quality and customer satisfaction.
5. Collaboration with Suppliers
- Work with suppliers to gain a deep understanding of their product portfolios.
- Coordinate with suppliers to collect technical documentation and provide product samples for customer evaluation.
6. Customer Understanding and Relationship Building
- Understand customer requirements in terms of products, technology, project timeline, and production volume.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to build strong relationships with engineers and decision-makers involved in customer projects.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Telecommunications, Electronic Engineering, Automation, or related fields.
- Basic to advanced knowledge of RF components such as power amplifiers, filters, couplers, LNAs, antennas, etc.
- 1–2 years of experience as an Application Engineer or Design/Technical Consultant related to RF and telecommunications systems.
- Ability to read and understand technical documents in English, and to communicate technical ideas clearly.
- Strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, willingness to learn, and proactive work ethic.
- Preference for candidates with experience in B2B technical consulting or working with electronics manufacturing companies.
- Experience with RF simulation software (e.g., ADS, CST, HFSS) is an advantage.
- Solid understanding of antennas, wave propagation, matching circuits, propagation loss, and other factors affecting RF transmission performance.
- Ability to operate and analyze data from test equipment such as Vector Network Analyzer (VNA), Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, Oscilloscope, etc.
- Business-minded, agile, and eager to engage with customers.
