On May 24, 2022, Epson announced that it had begun shipping samples of the SG-8201CJA quartz oscillator to automakers.

This quartz oscillator has many outstanding features:

Benefit:

• New crystal oscillator that supports output frequencies as high as 170 MHz
• Small package size of 2.0 × 1.6 mm allows space saving
•  AEC-Q1004 compliant, SG-8201CJA operates at ambient temperatures up to 125℃
• Provides high stability and low Jitter

Technical features:

• Output frequency: 1.2 MHz to 170 MHz
• Operating voltage: 1.62 V to 3.63 V
• Current (no load): 7.5 mA Max. (fo = 25 MHz) & 12.4 mA Max. (fo = 125 MHz)
• Qualified: AEC-Q100

Application:

• Used in ADAS applications such as radar, lidar, camera and high-speed ethernet
• Used in the self-driving car system - Autonomous driving (AD)

In addition, Epson has also begun shipping samples of the SG-8200CJ and SG-8201CJ crystal oscillators for industrial and consumer applications.
